The Pickering House of FAIRHOPE Hospice and Palliative Care is a home-like setting situated on approximately 40 picturesque acres boasting views of nature and a quiet wooded setting that helps to make patients and their families feel at home.
The Pickering House (18,980 square feet) has 12 patient rooms and provides room for family members to spend time day and night with their loved ones. A large family lounge and kitchen offer families space for preparing meals and snacks. The facility also has multiple three-season porches, a Chapel, and a great room offering a unique combination of privacy and comfort for everyone.

Creating a nurturing place for healing.
In addition to providing traditional hospice care, FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care also serves as a valuable resource to the community for grief care. To respond to the increasing demand for their grief care services, FAIRHOPE decided to build a free-standing community grief center. Here they are able to house family grief camps in a non-healthcare, family-oriented setting multiple times throughout the year. The grief center also houses administrative offices and meeting space that is available for civic, non-profit, and community organizations to utilize.
FAIRHOPE contracted with Gorsuch Construction, Inc. in February of 2016 to design and build the 7,000 square foot Anita M. Turner Grief Center, which took approximately 12 months to complete.
